Frequently asked questions
What publishers usually want to know before starting.
- What kind of PDF do I need?
- The print-ready PDF of the edition, with a text layer in it. A scanned page without a text layer cannot be read. If the text layer is damaged — which happens regularly with PDFs that went through a production pipeline — a character repair can be set up for your title.
- How accurate is it?
- On the first issue of a new title you review everything and correct what goes wrong. Those corrections become rules for that title. From the second or third issue it is usually a browse with the odd adjustment. It stays a review step: nothing comes out without someone looking at it.
- Who can see my editions?
- Only you. Your account sees only your own titles, editions, rules and figures. What you publish on the bookshelf is public, or behind a price if you sell single issues.
- What languages does it work in?
- The interface is in Dutch and English. Article detection works on layout and text structure and is not tied to a language.
- How much storage does an edition use?
- That depends on the page count and the photos in it, since those are kept at source quality. Your account shows continuously how much space you use and how much is included.
- Can I stop?
- Yes, monthly. Before you stop you can export every edition as a ZIP with the articles and photos in it, so you take everything with you.
- How is payment handled?
- Through Stripe, by card or direct debit. You set it up once; after that the monthly invoice is collected automatically, with a specification attached.
- Can I use the articles on my own website?
- Yes. Every edition can be exported as a ZIP with HTML per article, all data in JSON and photos at source quality.
